“ Stopped in for dinner with my wife and two granddaughters on 1/17/25. They serve breakfast all day so of course that's what we had! Great pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon...and great friendly service too! Can't ask for more. We'll continue to keep returning to this great place! ”
“ Hula's is an amazing stop! Darlene was the best sever both times we rolled through. The food is above par! They offer the best pup cups that I've ever seen. Bacon on top. ”
“ This little gem is hidden in tiny little Escalon packs a punch. It has the resemblance of an old school drive thru and it is a solid eatery to enjoy even if your just passing through. I always wait to tip a place until I've had a chance to actually experience it. With their particular setup I ended up asking the server at the window to retrieve my receipt specifically so I could write in my tip after we ate. We hadn't planned on eating there but last minute sat down and let our dogs out for a potty break. It was nice to see water bowls out and the server even came out with huge dog treats for all three of my pups. She even went above with making valid suggestions on what we should order and it did not disappoint us. We felt welcome and taken care of. I got the garlic burger lettuce wrapped and the season fries. Also the Chipotle burger. Also the frostie was on point. Not sure if it's a norm to get a small sample while we wait but it was perfect. ”
“ I have been wanting to stop here and try it out for so long and I finally did. It was great! A lot of options and the food was delicious. Great spot for a quick burger or sandwich. The staff is very friendly and fun. Very cool spot for breakfast or lunch. ”
“ (Tookout 10/07/24 MO @ 1:30pm): I "hulaed" myself to this place solely based on the name! Unfamiliar with the area, I did a quick Yelp app search for local small business food and Hula's was one of the first restaurants that popped up. I asked the mom of the friend I drove up with who grew up in the city and currently lived here, and she said it was a really good place - perfect! I mean, the name itself was enough for me to want to try it. For the life of me, I couldn't find the connection of this seemingly Hawaiian-themed eatery based on their burgers https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=wNKc5qLr3Tf4m-NHzZBoPw and how it ended up deep in the heartland of California farm country. Would I be dancing the hula and singing its aloha praises for their food!? PURCHASE Oreo Cookies Milkshake 24floz Cup ($6.99): Homemade with a nice consistency, plenty of Oreo cookie bits, and could easily have stood in as a meal, I split this with my friend as we waited for our respected food orders. It was truly lovely and I wished I hadn't shared! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=FRFKsYgySxFGhvftIL8UtA [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Beer Battered Onion Rings Full Basket ($7.99): A large container with a bunch of rings of various sizes, these were hot, medium browned, crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out instead of breaking apart. They weren't very oily (a plus), we had some catsup but really wasn't needed, and generally were very good. The full basket was the way to go! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=6Cav7L8_vhKw9772tmYr8A The Big Kahuna Burger w/Small Salad ($14.99): A third-pound fresh seasoned hamburger patty, this burger had the works plus avocado, bacon, jalapeño, and jack cheese while I also added some ingredients from the included side salad all barely held together by the lightly-toasted sesame seed bun, this easily was a dripping, juicy, messy two-hander https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=VclsIo_WNsbdBrxk0hvzeQ that took no prisoners. Everything was fresh, and once I ate the whole thing, I felt like a big kahuna... in more ways than one - mahalo! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=geggr-TMgQRLrCaNoejmLA Small Salad (INCLUDED): This was a simple salad of chopped romaine lettuce, shredded cheese, red onion, tomato, and a side of dressing, it was a nice healthier change of pace from everything else I ate in this meal. My heart thanked you! SERVICE We were greeted by an attractive young woman behind the order window who was extremely patient while we decided what each of us wanted. Once that was sorted out, she easily took our orders, the shared milkshake came out within minutes, and then the rest of the food was ready about ten minutes later; easy-peasy - thank you! PARKING (FREE) They shared a decent-sized lot with a few other businesses - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A quaint roadside diner feel with its somewhat dated interior tables and pastel colored walls https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=65ZtEvgGQxX8-zw-ehEgDA that made things even brighter, this place let you know you were in San Francisco sports teams country with the many framed and unframed pictures of 49ers and Giant players https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=-URs6f2LPBXVIZCCNQ9XlA hung on the walls. They also had some outdoor dining areas if you wanted some fresh air. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front windows and doors while bright electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There was a TV at each end of the interior dining room while no music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=PPghoZPpF5Ah_sGfkPIbmg ATTIRE Business casual, so I was in a dress shirt, dress pants, and Doc Martens. OVERALL I really liked Hula's and its small town sensibility and would definitely visit again. I loved the food, the prices were very comparable, the portions were huge, and the service was easy and straightforward. This place was like a non-corporate IHOP without the dinner menu (they served all-day breakfast, and I think even beer!). And, whenever possible I liked to support small local businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $33.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS ”
